This part of the ministry draws from each of the three facets of our vision:  Churches/Bible Schools, Publications, Radio.

We are so excited because God has prepared us for this teaching and preaching ministry.  My wife and I both have teaching experience.  I have had teaching experience as a professor, a Dean at the Crown College of the Bible and taught courses on Bible all over the country of Burma and in the US.  We pray that God will use us.  He doesn’t need our experience but we lay it at His feet and ask Him what He would have us do with what He has given us.

Teaching:  Bible Schools/Church Planting/Ministry

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE/BIBLE PROGRAM

We have founded MTB ESL/Bible school online to train Burmese Buddhist, Muslim and cultural Christian students in English through the Bible.  Our goal is to prepare them with a biblical foundation in the Bible in order to have them enroll in our online Bible school, which we plan for the future.  So far we have three programs complete, each one which lasts for 15 weeks, one semester.

  1. Beginning ESL/Bible:  This program gives the student an understanding of the basic foundation for the English language while giving them 15 weeks through the doctrines of the Christian faith.  They have a midterm and final.  We use speech recognition software to teach correct American English pronunciation in the program.  They have Bible quizzes every week.  We have already in the first year graduated over 80 students who received a diploma.
  2. Intermediate ESL/Bible:  This is a much more demanding course in both English grammar, reading, and pronunciation.  In this course they have to participate in live online discussions in English about the Bible and about the English language using Big Blue Button (like Zoom).  As part of their final exam they have to sing or recite one of the Christian songs taught in their course of study.  In this course they go chapter by chapter through the Gospel of John with rigorous quizzes each week and a demanding final exam.
  3. Deity of Christ:  Declared:  I wrote a book on the Deity of Christ for the Burmese people and have distributed 1000s in Burma to counter doctrinal heresy which has entered the country via JWs and Mormons and false teachers, even among so called Baptists.  We have completed our first radio course on this precious doctrine and now have put together an online course which hopefully will be ready this year.

Our goal is to prepare the students not only with English skills for studying the Bible but with a Bible foundation so that we can enroll them for further study in Bible course such as The Deity of Christ:  Declared, and, God willing, build a full-fledged Bible school including courses such as:

1.  Cults and False Doctrines

2.  The Doctrines of Our Faith

3.  The Diety of Christ

4.  The Trinity

5.   Church Planting

6.   Church Administration

7.   Old and New Testament Survey

8.  Living the Christian Life

Training Teachers

Currently we have two projects related to this. First of all, we plan on partnering with our own radio and publications ministries, to develop courses to teach the precious doctrines of our faith. It is incredible how quickly false doctrines are spreading among Burmese Christians, even Baptists.  Prosperity preaching, female pastors, contemporary charismatics, mormonism, jehovah’s witnesses.   As I said above, we are now completing the first course on The Deity of Christ.   This is essential to shore up the faith so that they will “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints”.

We are currently mentoring a wonderful, godly Burmese pastor, who is working with our radio ministry.  In fact, in return for the work he is doing for our radio ministry, we were able to get him a scholarship to Crown College Seminary in the United States to finish his online Masters of Ministry.  In Burma, credentials are everything.  He has excelled and has only one course left to successfully complete his MMin in English!!!  We are praying that he will continue in the battle for fundamentalism in Burma and among the Burmese diaspora and be a powerful voice for truth.
